brief history

F & B Profiles Limited was bought in 1987 by the Joint Managing Directors, Roger Avery and Michael Harvey.

Turnover then was approximately £300,000 p.a. with just nine employees, selling only profiles to a small range of customers within a 20 mile radius of Bristol.

Today

The F&B Group is a leading supplier of steel & nonferrous materials, fasteners, tools, profiling services and other specialist, engineered products to the manufacturing and construction sectors. The group employs 176 staff and operates out of five sites in Bristol and regional depots in Cardiff, Plymouth, Southampton and Gloucester, providing extensive geographical coverage.

The group supplies a wide range of products to more than 2,500 live OEM and sub-contract precision engineering customers across a broad range of engineering related sectors including aviation, automotive, packaging, defence, oil and gas as well as the construction industry. F&B Profiles Limited has developed a strong reputation on the back of its ability to source, stock and reliably deliver a wide range of products with short lead times.

F&B has made a number of successful acquisitions over the last 14 years which have supported the group's growth. This year's target (2001/2) is £18,000,000 (€30.000.000).

The group's founders, Roger Avery and Michael Harvey are both actively involved in the management of the business and remain the majority shareholders.

Our distribution range has extended to include the South and South West of England, up to the Midlands and South Wales.
