The following symbols are used in the product catalogue to identify various safety features and attributes.

Personal Protective Equipment Directive & Safety Footwear Standards

CE MArk

All Precision Profiles footwear is made in accordance with the requirements of the European Directive for Personal Protective Equipment 89/686/EEC (PPE) and carry the CE mark accordingly.

Safety Features

All Precision Profiles footwear have toecaps that meet the higher level requirements of the Safety Footwear Standard EN 345:1993 - 200 Joules Impact† and 15 KN Compression Protection††

  • 200 Joules Impact relates to dropping a 20 Kg weight onto the toes from a height of 1020mm.
  • †† 15KN Compression Protection corresponds approx with a 1.5 tonne weight resting on the toe area.

All Footwear carry the CE mark along with the relevant standard and safety feature codes.

Safety Footwear to EN345 are classified as Safety Basic and have the identification code SB

Additional safety features are coded in the following manner:

Anti-Static Footwear (Range of resistance 0.1MΩ - 1000MΩ) A
Penetration Resistant Midsole (1100N minimum force) P
Energy Absorbing Heel (20 Joules minimum) E
Resistance To Hot Contact (300ºC for minimum 60 secs) HRO
Water-Resistant Uppers WRU
Water-Resistant Footwear WR
Cold Insulation CI

Where combinations of the above features apply they can be abbreviated using the following markings.

S1 = SB + A + E
S2 = SB + A + E + WRU
S3 = SB + A + E + WRU + P
